1. Who we are

AI CV Coach is a product of Shunyax Labs, an AI & technology studio based in Mumbai, India. The site at aicvcoach.com is operated by Shunyax. Contact: founder@shunyax.com.

2. What data we collect

• —Email address — collected when you log in via one-time password (OTP) to use paid tools, see your /profile, or unlock the Full Access bundle. Used only for authentication and receipt delivery.
• —Purchase records — when you buy a paid tool or the Full Access bundle, we store the tool key, amount, Razorpay order ID, Razorpay payment ID, and timestamp.
• —Resume content (paid tools only) — text you paste or upload is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic / Claude) to generate output. It is processed in transit and not retained on our servers after the response is returned.
• —Resume content (free Resume Builder) — held only in your browser session. It never reaches our servers.
• —Analytics — Google Analytics 4 page views and session metrics, only if you accept the cookie banner.
• —Chatbot messages — if you interact with the on-site AI assistant and share your name/email in conversation, those details are forwarded to a private Google Sheet for follow-up.
• —OTP request logs — email + IP for the limited purpose of rate-limiting OTP abuse. Auto-pruned after 30 days.

3. Why we collect it

• —Authentication — OTP-based email login so paid tool unlocks are tied to the right user.
• —Receipts — sending you an email receipt of every purchase via SendGrid (required by Indian consumer law).
• —Service delivery — generating AI output for paid tools.
• —Abuse prevention — IP/email rate-limiting on OTPs and AI calls to keep the service available.
• —Analytics — understanding aggregate user behaviour so we can improve the product.

4. How data is stored

• —A dedicated PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway (Mumbai region) stores email-linked records: purchases, OTP tokens (short-lived), and basic user rows.
• —No resume content is persisted in our database. Anthropic processes resume text as part of generating a response and follows their own retention policy (zero data retention for API customers as of writing).
• —Payment data (card numbers, UPI IDs) never touches our servers — Razorpay handles all payment information directly under PCI-DSS compliance.
• —Analytics data is stored by Google. Chatbot leads are stored in a private Google Sheet accessible only to the team.

5. Cookies

We use Google Analytics (gtag) only if you accept the cookie banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set. We do not use advertising, retargeting, or third-party tracking cookies. Your consent choice is stored in your browser's localStorage (key: sc_cookie_consent).

6. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for marketing. Limited sharing with service providers we depend on: Anthropic (AI inference), Razorpay (payments), SendGrid (transactional email), Google Analytics (consent-gated). Each is governed by their own privacy policy.

7. Your rights (DPDPA & GDPR)

• —Right to access — request a copy of personal data we hold about you (typically: your email and purchase records).
• —Right to correction — ask us to correct any inaccurate detail in your record.
• —Right to deletion — request your account and purchase records be erased.
• —Right to withdraw consent — withdraw analytics consent anytime by clearing localStorage (key sc_cookie_consent) or sending us an email.
• —To exercise any right, email founder@shunyax.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.

8. Data retention

• —Purchase records: retained as long as your account is active or as required by Indian tax law (typically 7 years for invoices).
• —Email + name: retained while your account is active. Deleted on request.
• —Short-lived OTP tokens: auto-expire in 10 minutes.
• —Analytics: retained 14 months in Google Analytics.
• —Chatbot leads: up to 12 months unless you ask for earlier deletion.

9. Children

AI CV Coach is intended for users 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has shared data with us, write to founder@shunyax.com and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. The current version is always available at aicvcoach.com/privacy. Material changes will be flagged in-app or by email.
